Helping Students Help The Community

Matthews, NC  April 2003 – With the guidance and supervision of Nick Cicali and Ron Shepherd of Diamond Builders of America, Inc., students from the Phillip O. Berry Academy of Technology participated in a NARI playhouse project for the community. Each
playhouse built was displayed and sold at an auction, with proceeds going to an organization for abused and neglected children. The program gave students an insight on the construction business, learning how to dimension a drawing, calculate measurements,
develop material lists, do a cost analysis, and perform for clients.

Nick was quoted as saying, “Our goal is to give students an insight into their future and help them guide towards their goals. This program is for the betterment of our industry and the betterment of the community.”
